The upcoming wedding of Shivaay (Farman Haider) and Jagadhatri (Sonakshi Batra) has become one of the most anticipated moments inJagadhatri. As the story moves towards the grand celebration, viewers are eagerly waiting to witness the union of the beloved on-screen couple. In the latest episodes, both the Deshmukh and Naik families are immersed in the wedding festivities, setting the stage for an emotional and celebratory track.
The excitement, however, isn't limited to the show. Fans of the couple have been celebrating the occasion in their own unique way. Ahead of the wedding sequence, Sonakshi Batra was pleasantly surprised when a group of admirers invited her to their home and organised a traditional Maharashtrian Kelvan ceremony in her honour.
Kelvan is a significant pre-wedding custom in Maharashtra where the bride or groom is welcomed with an aarti, blessed by loved ones, served a lovingly prepared home-cooked meal, and presented with gifts as they prepare to begin a new chapter in life. The thoughtful celebration left Sonakshi emotional and reminded her of the special bond she shares with her audience.
Recalling the experience, Sonakshi said, "With Shivaay andJagadhatri's weddingcoming up in the show, my fans gave me the most beautiful surprise. They organised a Kelvan for me, and it became one of the most memorable moments of my life.
"What touched me the most were the conversations I had with them. One fan told me, 'You don't have a maasi, so today I will be your maasi and perform this Kelvan for you.' Another said, 'I don't have a daughter, but you are like my daughter.' Those words truly stayed with me. At that moment, it didn't feel like I was meeting fans; it felt like I was surrounded by family. Their warmth, affection and acceptance are memories I will always cherish. Television is about much more than characters and storylines. Experiences like these make you realise how deeply viewers connect with the people they watch every day. I had never imagined that my fans would celebrate a Kelvan for me."
She further added, "They welcomed me with a teeka and aarti, served delicious Maharashtrian food prepared with so much love, and even gifted me thoughtful presents. ThroughJagadhatri, I have received immense love, and moments like these make me feel incredibly grateful. This show has also introduced me to many beautiful Maharashtrian traditions, and being able to experience Kelvan in real life made it even more meaningful. More than anything else, I was touched by the effort everyone put into making the day so special. Knowing that people have embraced not only Jagadhatri but also me as a person is a blessing I will always treasure."
